Officials Pay Scale (MYAS games)

Officials-
IOA provides officials for a wide range of sports. Soccer, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. Both experienced officials, and
new officials are welcome as there are places for both. If you are interested in being involved as an official, please look over my IOA guidelines
and contact me.

IOA Referee Guidelines and Expectations

Appropriate Assignments
: IOA is comprised of a large list of officials. This large list allows me to assign my top officials to higher level games
and championship games.  IOA believes it is important to use qualified officials representing both race and gender with the emphasis remaining
on being qualified.

Certification: The majority of IOA officials are MYAS registered and/or MSHSL certified, but I also work with a number of very good officials that are
not. I strongly encourage all officials to become registered with MYAS and certified with the MSHSL as I believe it is worth the investment both in
increased pay and opportunities. Please follow the links to MYAS and MSHSL and check out their certification process.

On Time: My expectation is that 15 minutes before assigned games is on time, BUT arriving at game time is late.  Being late or a no show is taken
seriously by me, and will need to be addressed.

Presence:  IOA officials are to be approachable, clear in both their mechanics and words. IOA officials are expected to be non-confrontational, and
in control of assigned games.  Officials are expected to hustle, stay calm in any competitive storm, and maintain game flow but blow the whistle as
necessary.

Feedback Process: The feedback received regarding officials from coaches and tournament personnel, is taken seriously, and is used to make
us a better officiating service.  The feedback from my top officials is also used to both mentor and better assign newer officials appropriately.

Mentoring: If you are a new official and looking I believe it is best to help partner you with an experienced official who can help improve your game
as an official.

Missed Assignments: My philosophy about assigning is not about blame but minimizing missed or late assignments. This is not a 9 to 5
arrangement so it takes more time coordinating on both the assignor and officials part. If a pattern appears where an official is assessed as
undependable then they will lose the opportunity for being assigned games.

Respect & Loyalty: Respect and loyalty works two ways. I have a large group of officials, but I do try my best to accomodate schedules for all officials
with first preferences going to those who have proven dependable and respectful of my expectations. Just like any business I am looking for
responsible qualified people and it only makes sense to treat these individuals with respect and loyalty.

If you are interested in working with IOA as an official please contact me. Thanks.
